The sun is peeking through the clouds, with temperatures expected to rise up to 60 degrees this week! A sign to begin spring shopping or even swimsuit searching, but for athletes, it’s also a reminder to begin diving into practice clothes. For tennis, outfits are built with tradition and performance in mind. For a tennis athlete, it is ideal to have practice outfits that are comfortable and easy to move in, but of course, can be stylish!

Tennis Staples

Pleated Skirts – The most identifiable piece tennis players wear is a skirt because it is light and allows the player to hold the tennis balls in the pocket. You can easily find a skirt on Amazon, Free People, Fabletics, or Active One.

Matching Sets – You can’t have an outfit without the top! Many tennis uniforms have a racerback, which you can also locate on Amazon, Adidas, and Fabletics. A regular tank will also work well!

Lightweight zip-ups and sweatpants – While playing in early spring, it often gets chilly. Cuffed sweatpants like those from Under Armour and a tight zip-up from Amazon can help fight against the cold.

Visors – With the sun beaming on your face, it can make you burnt and blinded. Visors like those from Amazon help shade your eyes.

Dress – Dresses aren’t as common, but they are just as cute as two pieces. You can find some on sites such as  Fabletics, Amazon, and Free People

Shoes – Shoes like those from ASICS, Wilson, and KSwiss are just a few examples of good-quality women’s tennis shoes that offer comfort and lightness.

Tennis is one of the perfect sports to transition from class to court because of its stylish country-club look. While there are many pieces to purchase when you are first starting, finding lightweight clothing is key for easy play!
