Anyone who knows about Megan Thee Stallion knows that she is not just influential within the music industry- she’s also become an inspiration for many within the fitness world. Everyone who knows the H-Town Hottie knows that, since the beginning of her career, she has promoted body positivity and self-love boldly. From proudly embracing her curves and tall height to openly discussing her mental health journey and her sexuality, she’s been unapologetically redefining what it means to be confident inside and out.
In a world that often sets impossible and unrealistic standards for women, Megan encourages her fans to love themselves at every stage, not just when they meet society’s expectations.
However in recent years, particularly after COVID-19 and then even more after the Tory Lane situation, her message has gone beyond just looking good. She’s been using her platform and presence to promote healthy healing, self-care, and the importance of mental and physical well-being. She shared her journey with anxiety, depression, and hopless feelings, and how she frequently had to go on a mental health hiatus because of her struggles.
But she always came back and felt better than ever, which goes to show that everyone needs a mental health break, even someone as unstoppable as her. She protects her peace and that’s what I love. As someone who tends to be a perfectionist and always takes on so much without a break, she motivates me to let myself breathe and that it’s okay to do so.
As of right now, I can not think of many celebrities of her caliber who genuinely advocates for mental and physical well-being the way she does. Or at least she’s the only one that reaches me truly and comes off as authentic and relatable.
Her approach to a lot of things in life feel much more relatable, authentic, and push me to do better. Megan’s approach to body positivity is not for the conservatives and not for the male-centered or insecure women, but I think that’s why it sits so well with me, and the other millions who support her and what she stands for. Her approach to self-care, which is binge watching anime, going to the gym, and spending time with her dogs, also resinates with me and motives me. I don’t know why people always make it seem like self-care has to be some long, drawn out process, when it doesn’t.
Megan has this ability to make you want to be the best you can be mentally and physically, to the extent that it radiates from you when you walk into a room and nobody can deny it. Nobody else can make me feel like a powerful woman the way she does. Putting on a Megan Thee Stallion song while working out makes me feel like a certified ‘maneater’ in the gym, an undefeated champion despite my wheezing and weak knees. Seeing her pictures on Instagram inspire me to take more photos and to put more effort into my appearance and way of living.
Megan Thee Stallion’s message of self-care, healing, and body positivity goes beyond just some badass lyrics in a song- it’s a movement. By openly embracing her own journey and publicly sharing her struggles, she’s shown that self-love isn’t about perfection. It’s about growth, balance, and taking care of yourself in a way that feels right for you. It doesn’t matter what society thinks or says.
