Alone

Alone

Bria Davis

Written by Lauren

Complacency glided through my veins.

A rusty heart beat melded to a marching band.

I grow envious of the insipid.

 Dysfunction

makes for a lonely companion.

The remnants of desire linger on your tongue.

I gather, that you think of me,

Watch me,

often.

I feel your eyes scanning my body

 like some cheap self checkout.

Sometimes I feel alone.

You-

make me feel alone.
