Supernatural In Charlotte

Over Fall Break I attended a Supernatural Convention in Charlotte North Carolina. This was my first time ever going to a convention in general and this is how it went. For starters this is purely just my experience, but I had so much fun and would recommend it.

This event was hosted in Charlotte, North Carolina, at the convention center of an Embassy Suites Hotel. The event was through Creation Entertainment, which is a company that hosts a variety of conventions for a variety of TV shows. I had ordered tickets for this event several months prior and the process was very smooth and easy.

It’s important to note that these conventions last for three days in each of their locations.

The Supernatural conventions are under the title of “The Road So Far and The Road Ahead.” This convention was taking place over fall break, October 11th – October 13th of 2024, however I only attended the convention on Sunday October 13th. I attended the convention with a friend and since it was a day trip, we left early Sunday morning in order to make it to the convention on time.

The events last all day and an updated schedule with times keeps everything organized. For Sunday, my friend and I arrived around 10am and left around 5pm. When I first arrived at the hotel, they had a sign that displayed all of the locations in the United States for The Road So Far, The Road Ahead Creation Tour 2024. The layout of the convention center was very easy to navigate, and they had signs that labeled everything. I was very impressed with how organized everything was. There was a schedule for the day that listed events in detail and included times.

With this being a convention for the tv show Supernatural, events and activities were all in relation to Supernatural and the characters/actors associated. The main reason that I wanted to attend this convention was because I wanted to meet Jensen Ackles.

I really liked watching him in Supernatural and a few other shows that he currently is active in. My friend and I were very excited, and this was our main event for the day. My friend and I got a picture with the famous 1967 Chevrolet Impala from Supernatural. I am not a car girl and have never been into cars, but I have to admit that there was something cool about seeing this classic model.

I think this is one of those little things that goes a long way.

The photographer was amazing and really took this time to get the right picture. After that, my friend and I did some shopping before it was time to line up for our main event of the day. I was nervous to meet Jensen Ackles because I had no idea what to expect. I think that when you finally get to the moment when you’re about to do something you’ve been looking forward to for so long, you’re a little overwhelmed with happiness and excitement.

I remember seeing Jensen Ackles while I was waiting in line, and I couldn’t contain my excitement when he was standing right in front of me saying hi.  It was a really nice experience, and it definitely was one of those “no way this is really happening” moments. I don’t think that I could ever really explain what I was feeling during the interaction, but I will say that it was personally a great experience for me.

I thought that Jensen was nice and welcoming, and he had no issue talking to me even though the interaction was only a few seconds. It may have been a small amount of time, but it will last a lifetime. I wish it could have been longer but the memories and pictures I have from that day will last forever. The experience was great and I thought the Creation Entertainment staff were very nice and helpful with any issues or questions that came up.

I would encourage anyone reading this to do more things that are out of your comfort zone. Never would I have pictured myself doing something like this and while it may seem small, it meant more than that.  The last few years have taught me that when life presents a chance for you to have fun and do something for yourself, take full advantage of that because you never know what you could be passing on.
